Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan

The Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan is a 125-day initiative with a budget of Rs. 50,000 Crore aimed at providing livelihood opportunities to returning migrant workers and rural citizens affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Its objectives include the creation of employment, the development of public infrastructure like Anganwadi’s and Panchayat Bhawan’s, and laying the groundwork for sustainable livelihoods, covering 116 districts across six states, including 27 Aspirational Districts, estimated to encompass about two-thirds of the returning migrant workers.
